Privacy policy
Last updated: April 2026
Cantwell Automation ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of visitors to our website and clients who use our services. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what rights you have under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who we are
Cantwell Automation is a sole proprietorship based in Switzerland providing AI-powered workflow automation services for businesses. If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can reach us at hello@cantwellautomation.com.
What data we collect
We keep data collection to a minimum. Here is what we may process:
- Booking information: When you schedule a call through Calendly, they collect your name and email address on our behalf. Calendly acts as a data processor. Their privacy policy is available at calendly.com/privacy.
- Email correspondence: If you email us, we store your messages and contact details to respond to your enquiry and provide our services.
- Client project data: When working on automation projects, we may access business data you share with us (such as workflow details, tool credentials, and sample data). This is used solely to deliver the agreed services.
What we do not collect
Our website does not currently use cookies, analytics tools, tracking pixels, or any third-party scripts that monitor your browsing behaviour. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and implement an appropriate consent mechanism before any non-essential tracking is activated.
Why we process your data
We process personal data only for the following purposes:
- To respond to your enquiries and schedule calls
- To deliver the automation services you have engaged us for
- To communicate with you about your project
- To send invoices and manage payments
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Legal basis for processing
Under the FADP, we process your data based on:
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to deliver the services you have requested.
- Legitimate interest: Processing necessary for running our business, such as responding to enquiries.
- Consent: Where required, such as for any future marketing communications. You may withdraw consent at any time.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services that may process your data:
- Calendly — for scheduling calls (name, email)
- Netlify — for hosting this website (server logs may include IP addresses)
- Make.com — for delivering automation services to clients
Each of these providers has their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We select providers that maintain appropriate data protection standards.
Data retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy. Specifically:
- Enquiry data: deleted within 12 months if no engagement follows
- Client data: retained for the duration of the project plus any legally required retention period (typically 10 years for financial records under Swiss law)
- Email correspondence: retained for the duration of the business relationship
Your rights
Under the FADP (and the GDPR, where applicable), you have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention obligations
- Data portability: Request your data in a commonly used format
- Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent: Where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@cantwellautomation.com. We will respond within 30 days.
International data transfers
Some of our third-party providers may process data outside of Switzerland. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions recognised by the Swiss Federal Council.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent revision was made. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
